Backcountry
Kim and Kyla, two of Sam’s best friends, ran a wilderness therapy program for troubled teens. After the two women are murdered on a popular hiking trail, Sam reluctantly takes Kyla’s place as a field guide on the company’s last expedition of the year. While Sam is at home in the Cascade mountains of Washington State, she is unnerved by the violent deaths of her friends, and decidedly out of her element in dealing with six teenagers whose histories include drugs, bullying, and suicide attempts.
